Details of Awards offered to graduates of the
Mentor Forensics programme. Awards available:

Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Development (Behaviour Analysis and Forensic Psychology)

The Mentor Academy Postgraduate Certificate is an academic and professional qualification which reflects a practical and theoretical knowledge of sex offender psychology, enabling professionals working in this highly specialist field to demonstrate their expertise. Validated by Middlesex University through the Professional Development Foundation, this qualification also provides a path towards continued postgraduate study at Masters and PhD level.

Certificate of Continuing Professional Development Credit (40 points)

To achieve the Certificate of Continuing Professional Development Credit, students will need to demonstrate their application of the learning from the Mentor Academy Curriculum Courses to their professional practice in a piece of assessed work. This is a popular route for employers seeking to raise the academic standards of a group of professionals. The Certificate provides participants with recognition of their study and facilitates those who choose to progress their study and complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Development (Behaviour Analysis and Forensic Psychology) in their own time.

This option involves participants completing Stage 1 of the Postgraduate Certificate route only by making an application for Recognition of Prior Learning PDF 4802.

Graduate Diploma in Management of Specialist Professionals

For managers with three or more years' experience in management of professionals in the field of child sexual exploitation, the Graduate Diploma is the ideal way to achieve academic recognition of the management knowledge and skills required in this field.

Endorsed Award in Leadership and Management Certificate

Managers in the field can also obtain an endorsed award in leadership and management. Please discuss with PDF who will advise you on the options available.

Stages for the awards

Stage 1 - Complete four Mentor Academy Training Courses (Modules 1-4) to achieve the Mentor Professional Development Award.

Participants must choose four of the six Mentor courses listed here which must include Understanding sex offender behaviour - A foundation course in behaviour analysis. Each course comprises one Module.

Stage 2 - Apply to PDF to enrol for the final part of the process (Module 5)

Attainment of the Mentor Professional Development Award entitles the participant to apply to the Professional Development Foundation (PDF) which facilitates Module 5 in association with Middlesex University.

Module 5 is a distance learning module, enabling participants to study at a location convenient to them.

PDF also work with a number of professional bodies in management, coaching and other areas and you may be able to combine your studies towards additional awards. Once in receipt of the Mentor Professional Development Award, choose the academic qualification or award that you wish to obtain.
