Web Beacons
Our Site contains electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) and are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyze how our Site is used and may be used in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signal. We may also anonymize, aggregate or de-identify personal information so the end-product does not identify you or any other individual. Such aggregated, anonymized or de-identified information is not considered personal information for purposes of this Privacy Policy and we may use it for any purpose. For example, we may use this information to generate norms by industry, geography, level, etc., enable us to understand where our services are being utilized, conduct ongoing validation studies, compile reports, and improve the services.
Artificial Intelligence
Our site offers you the option of using model context protocols (MCP) which connect artificial intelligence applications you select to our Site. If you elect to use MCPs, you will be subject to separate terms and conditions between you and the artificial intelligence provider. We cannot control what information you may provide to that artificial intelligence provider and we are not responsible for how that artificial intelligence provider may use or disclose any information you may provide to them. This is not as an endorsement by us of any artificial intelligence provider. As such, we urge that you exercise caution before providing them with your information and to review the that artificial intelligence provider’s privacy policy and terms and conditions. If you enable an MCP for its use with the Site, you are granting us permission to allow the artificial intelligence provider of such MCP to access your information as required for the interoperation of such MCP with the Site. Our Site also offers chatbots powered by artificial intelligence.
We use these features to process document content (text, images, and other content contained in PDF files or other documents you upload, open, or interact with through the Site or via MCP integrations), prompts and instructions (text input you provide to the artificial intelligence chatbot or through MCP connected artificial intelligence applications (such as Claude by Anthropic or ChatGPT by OpenAI)), and usage information (metadata associated with your artificial intelligence interactions, such as timestamps, feature usage, and session identifiers). We use this information to perform the artificial intelligence powered document operations you request (e.g., editing, summarizing, extracting, generating, or organizing content).
We ask that you do NOT include personal information in your prompts and inputs into our artificial intelligence tools (including our chatbot and MCP integrations); however, we cannot control what you provide to us.
One of the most useful and promising features of artificial intelligence models is that they can improve over time. We continuously improve our artificial intelligence models through research breakthroughs as well as exposure to real-world problems and data. While information provided to us through the MCP integrations is not used for training any artificial intelligence model, our chatbots and information collected in connection with your use of these chatbots may be used to train the artificial intelligence model. Additionally, your conversations with our chatbots are recorded, stored, and monitored.
You may disconnect any MCP integration at any time within the Site settings or within the third-party artificial intelligence platform (e.g., Claude.ai or ChatGPT). Disconnecting an integration will prevent further transmission of your information to that artificial intelligence provider. You may opt out of artificial intelligence powered features by choosing not to use them. Core functionality of the Site, such as document editing, merging, splitting, and other standard features do not require use of artificial intelligence features.
Who We Share Your Personal Information With
We routinely share personal information with:
- Our Business Partners. We disclose your personal information to other companies with whom we partner to provide the Site, to promote our products, services, offers, contests, or other promotions to our customers, and carry out other activities described in this Privacy Policy. This includes our artificial intelligence providers if you enable an MCP for its use with the Site.
- Our Service Providers. We disclose your personal information to third parties that provide business, professional, or technical support services to us and/or administer activities on our behalf. This includes artificial intelligence providers for features of the Site that are powered by artificial intelligence.
- Our Analytics Providers. We disclose your personal information to parties that assist us in performing analytics and help us measure the effectiveness of the Site and our marketing and advertising efforts.
- Our Marketing and Advertising Partners. We disclose your personal information to our marketing and advertising partners, such as Google AdSense, including social media networks, third-party advertising networks, and other parties that assist us in serving, measuring the performance of, and optimizing our advertisements.
- Social media logins and other integrations. When you log into your customer account using your social media account credentials (such as Google, Apple, or Facebook), or use other social media services with us, your personal information will be disclosed to the social media account provider in connection with your login. By doing so, you authorize us to facilitate this sharing of information, and you understand that this sharing is governed by the social media site’s privacy policy that you used to log into your account.
- Governmental and Public Authorities. We disclose your personal information to government and public authorities as necessary or permitted by the laws of any jurisdiction in which we operate, including in response to a subpoena, court order, investigative demand, request for cooperation from a law enforcement agency, or similar request from a self-regulatory body or government agency.
- Relevant Third Parties in Connection with a Business Transaction. We may disclose or otherwise transfer your personal information to an acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction as well as in the event of any insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.
We only allow our service providers to handle your personal information if we are satisfied they take appropriate measures to protect your personal information. Company is headquartered in the United States of America (“United States”) and utilizes service providers in the United States. The Site is not intended for Site visitors outside the United States. If you are a non-U.S. user of the Site, by visiting the Site and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that your personal information may be processed for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy. Google Drive Integration
When you choose to import a file from Google Drive, pdf.net requests access only to the specific file you select (Google drive.file scope). We use this access solely to retrieve that file and open it in the editor for the operation you requested. Once imported, the file becomes a document in your pdf.net account and is stored, retained, and deleted like any other file you upload. pdf.net's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties except as necessary to provide the service or comply with law.
Third Party Websites
If, in your interactions with the Site, you are linked or directed to, or click on, a third party website, we cannot control what information you may provide to that party or on that website, and we are not responsible for how that party may use or disclose any information you may provide to them. This is not as an endorsement by us of any third party website, content that may be offered on such third party website, or of any products or services provided by such third party. This Privacy Notice Addendum (“Notice”) supplements the information contained in the above Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, ("consumers" or "you").

Shine the Light Law
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law permits individuals who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information that corresponds to the categories of personal information set forth under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83 to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes.

Please note that you may be restricted on the number of data access or data portability requests you may make within a 12-month period.
If you choose to contact us, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with your request. In order to help protect your privacy and maintain security, you will need to provide us with:
- Enough information to identify you (e.g., your full name, address, email address, telephone number, birth date, or customer or matter reference number);
- Proof of your identity and address (e.g., a copy of your driving license or passport and a recent utility or credit card bill); and
- A description of what right you want to exercise and the information to which your request relates.
In addition, if you ask us to provide you with specific pieces of personal information, we may require you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer whose personal information is the subject of the request.
You may use a representative, called an "authorized agent," to submit a request to us.
In some states, an authorized agent must be a natural person, or a business entity registered with the appropriate Secretary of State, that you have authorized to act on your behalf.
In order to protect your privacy, Company requires you to confirm that you have provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request and you must provide the authorized agent with signed permission. "Signed" means that the written attestation, declaration, or permission has either been physically signed or provided electronically pursuant to the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. In California, an authorized agent that has power of attorney pursuant to California Probate Code section 4121 to 4130 must submit proof of statutory power of attorney, but in such cases, consumer verification will not be required.
Company may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been authorized to act on your behalf. Requests submitted by an authorized agent will still require verification of the person who is the subject of the request in accordance with the process described above.
We are not obligated to make a data access or data portability disclosure if we cannot verify that the person making the request is the person about whom we collected information, or is someone authorized to act on such person’s behalf.
Any personal information we collect from you to verify your identity in connection with you request will be used solely for the purposes of verification.
